Media Rooms
Media rooms are entertainment spaces that blend into your home, whether they are just subtle TVs, or designed from the ground up to be completely hidden. We also have information on other common areas where TVs can be located.
All of our entertainment systems can be designed to work with our cameras, whole house audio and lighting control. We work with Satellite TV systems and cable, and we are experts in HDTV. A customized remote control comes with our complete media rooms which controls all of the components in an intuitive and simplified manner.

1: Media Room Base
All of our basic media rooms come with a DVD player, an amplifying A/V receiver, and a custom remote control. If you are interested in a media room, start by selecting the packages below. You can then choose the kind of TV and speakers you want in the following sections.
| Name | Description | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Media Room | This base package provides the DVD player and the amplifier. You'll still need to select a TV and speakers, as well as any other options, below. |
2: Media Room TV Type
One of the most important factors in the design of your system is the type of television you choose. Thin is in, which makes Plasma TVs our best sellers, but for smaller rooms, LCD TVs are a great fit. And a variety of projection systems are available as well.
| Name | Description | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Plasma Television | For the most natural image in bright lighting, as well as the best overall picture for color, saturation, and depth, nothing beats a plasma. All of our plasmas have a long 65,000 hour life - over 20 years before noticable dimming. | ||
| LCD Television | For smaller displays, LCD technology is available in extremely thin packaging. LCD is very crisp, and easy to see in brightly lit rooms. | ||
| Rear Projection Television | Rear projection DLP or LCD TVs are similar to the old-fashion "big-screen" TVs, but without many of their faults. They still are susceptible to glare and brightly lit rooms, but you can get a very large image for a reasonable price. Rear projections TVs, however, are much thicker than plasmas, and they require either a TV stand or an entertainment center. | ||
| Front Projection System | For the largest possible image, a theater-style projector with a screen can't be beat. However, the room must be able to be darkened. This can be automatically handled by an electric shading system, if needed. |
3: Media Room Speakers
The speakers you choose will help define how much the media room blends into your surrounding, as well as the quality of the sound.
| Name | Description | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| On-Wall Speakers | On-Wall speakers are usually fairly small, and can be hung around a plasma or LCD TV. | ||
| In Wall Speakers | In-wall speakers can be painted to match the walls, and have no depth. They do, however, require a large hole to be cut into the walls. | ||
| In Ceiling Speakers | For the least visually intrusive design, in-ceiling speakers hide the speakers above your head, and can be painted to completely blend in. Great for hidden designs, such as those with scrolling screens or TVs hidden behind paintings or mirrors. | ||
| Bookshelf Speakers | Book shelf speakers are great if your TV is mounted inside a bookcase, as the speakers can just sit among your books. They usually provide a little better sound than on-wall speakers, because they have a large sound chamber. | ||
| 5-Channel Surround Bar | NEW! The amazing surround bar provides 5-channel surround sound with a single speaker box. Using a patented sound-canceling design, the speaker creates a very effective sound field. This speaker is perfect for rooms without a rear wall, or where the surround speakers are simply impossible. | ||
| Floor-Standing Speakers | Floor-standing front speakers provide the best possible sound, but require the most space. | ||
| In-Floor Subwoofer | NEW! For the most completely hidden installation, an in-floor subwoofer requires only a small grate in the floor of your room, providing almost as much boom as a normal subwoofer. |
4: Media Room Extras
There are a variety of extras you can get to enhance your media room. Hiding your TV when you aren't watching it and enhancing your control of the room are some of the options below.
| Name | Description | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| TV Concealing Painting | A motorized painting printed on canvas scrolls down over the TV when not in use. | ||
| TV Concealing Mirror | When the TV is off, it turns into a normal mirror. When it's on, the mirror disappears! | ||
| Motorized Screen | For front-projection systems, the screen can be motorized, so it can roll up when not in use. Great for hiding in the ceiling or in a bookcase. | ||
| Motorized Window Blinds | Motorized blinds help to control light automatically, by rolling the shades down when the TV is on. Also controllable from the remote. | ||
| Video Game Port | Add a game port to any TV so it is easy to plug in video game consoles, video cameras, and more! | ||
| Wireless Remote Control | Make your remote control wireless so you don't have to it point at the equipment. A must if you want the equipment hidden. |
