DLP Projector

A device that displays an image on a screen in front.

DLP projectors use a technology called Digital Light Processing, which uses tiny mirrors to focus light and project the image up front. The provide some of the best quality images, and are often reasonably priced.

Dust Pan

A central vacuum outlet that is used on hard floors, such as kitchens or foyers.

It is used by simply sweeping the dirt near it and pushing an on switch with your foot. Once the dirt has been sucked up, it shuts off the same way.

DVD

Digital Versatile Disc, media for watching movies and storing information

DVDs are a flat disc the same size and shape as CDs, but can be used for movies as well as music. They have almost completely replaced VHS, and may replace CDs for music eventually. DVDs will never loses their data, as long as they are stored properly (to reduce scratches and breaks), and copies of home movies made to DVD are perfect copies everytime.

DVR

Digital Video Recorder, a device that is used to record video (like a VCR.)

DVRs, used in both TV applications (see Tivo) and security systems, allow video to be recorded to a hard drive. Unlike VCRs, this video can be accessed quickly and deleted easily.
